My 18 yr. old daughter passed away suddenly on Feb 3rd. I take some peace knowing that I was able to fly in from Oregon to be with her for two hours before she passed away. This life shattering, devastating moment is forever imprinted in my soul. The day she passed was the worst night of my life but the morning after was even worse. How do I even begin to think about burial services? Thankfully my cousin works in the funeral industry. He recommended Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens Mortuary in San Gabriel. We set up an appointment for Friday the 5th. This would be the 2nd worst part of losing my daughter, dealing with Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens Mortuary. I would describe their staff as incredibly insensitive, unprofessional and ruthless group of people. I can't fit all the details but let's just say it was
drawn out dramatic process on their part. The way they handled my situation bordered unethical!!! After all the dramatics; I was told my daughter would be cremated the week of 2/15. No exact date was given since apparently they had a sudden influx of deaths come through their doors. Given that, it wouldn't be "fair" to the other families to wait, we would have to wait, not long, so they said. However on 2/15/16 there office would be closed in observation of President Day! I can't help wonder how much of this BS they said was true. My daughter was cremated on 2/22! My brother went in on 2/25 to pick up her ashes. Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens Mortuary refused to give the ashes to him since his name was not on the contract. He calls me upset, advises me to speak to them calmly and see what my options are. Given that I know how incredibly insensitive and ruthless Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens Mortuary can be I decided to be calm even after all they had put me through. I speak with Rosie who says she can mail the ashes to me; she would try to have them mailed out by 2/26 but no later than 2/29! I called on 3/1 spoke to Cynthia; apparently the ashes had NOT been mailed out either day and Rosie called in sick on Monday 2/29! There are no words to describe how frustrated I felt. How can people behave this way?? But this is just a glimpse on the type of behavior I received from them. My daughters ashes arrived on 3/3 exactly ONE month after her passing!!
There's no greater pain then to endure the loss of a child but to have it dragged out day after day for a whole month by Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens Mortuary and their staff it was incredibly exhausting and inconceivably cruel behavior. It was like having to relive hearing the words "I'm sorry, we couldn't save her" over and over!

I strongly urge you to look elsewhere for funeral services.
